Brooch inspiration: 8 (+1) ways of wearing your new favourite accessory

Brooch inspiration: 8 (+1) ways of wearing your new favourite accessory

Love a brooch but don't know how to wear it? Here is some inspiration for you! I'm a silversmith and usually make mostly rings, earrings and necklaces - however the brooch trend didn't pass me by and I just had to make my own mark.

You can find the Instagram Reel I made to show all of these ways to wear brooches at the end of this blog post!

So let's get right into it! Here are my 8 favourite ways of wearing a brooch (plus one bonus for the colder months!)

1. Baggy t-shirt lift!

This is a cute way to make a baggy t-shirt more fitted. Just gather up the fabric on one side, pin it with the brooch and let it do all the hard work.

2. Classic scarf tie

Brooches are literally made for this, especially ones that have a bit of a round shape to them so they adapt to the scarf bulk. Simply wrap the scarf, fluff it as you like and secure with a brooch.

3. Collar pin magic

An adorable way of wearing a brooch when wearing a shirt: Use it right at the neckline as a choker replacement!

4. Necklace alternative

Or maybe a little lower, as a necklace alternative? You can use button holes to find the perfect spot. This works especially well with dangle brooches (and if you have a button that will just not stay put!)

5. The classic chest pin

Of course we can't forget the classic chest pin. Perfect spot on any jumper, or shirt with pocket. It's just meant to be!

6. Asymmetrical top straps

For my asymmetrical girlies out there, here's a lovely one: Why not use a statement brooch on the strap of a top? Eye-catching and just different enough!

7. Replacement button for jackets

Jackets, shackets, oversized shirts. If you want to get cosy, wrap yourself up and pin your garment of choice closed so you stay cosy. And stylish!

8. My personal favourite: The lapel

Another classic one and the actual coat that inspired me to make brooches! My lovely green winter coat with a lapel that just needed filling.

BONUS

Why not accessorise your winter warmers?? A brooch can look absolutely fantastic on a hat or headband.

This just shows: be creative, be different, and wear your favourite jewellery with pride! If you want to see me in action showing off all these wonderful ways of wearing a brooch, check out my Instagram Reel!
